As part of its international talent program, the Ravensburger Group has opened a new chapter in employee development: our Scale Up business simulation was used to promote strategic thinking, business acumen, and interdisciplinary cooperation in a playful and practical way.

Insights Into the Seminar Concept

The two-week seminar included four half-day online sessions and was conducted entirely in English. A total of 19 participants from different departments and international locations came together. The seminar was delivered via the TOPSIM-Cloud in combination with Zoom, and the Miro digital whiteboard, creating a perfect environment for dynamic, collaborative learning.

Why Scale Up?

Our Scale Up business simulation is specially designed for corporate training and employee development. It is also now being used successfully at many universities.

In the simulation, participants assume the roles of a leadership team that must transform a traditional scooter manufacturer into an innovative provider of e-mobility and sharing solutions. The focus is on both operational decisions and strategy.

The simulation seminar with the Ravensburger Group brought together employees from various departments, including sales, marketing, human resources, innovation, and project management. Employees had the opportunity to play an active role, make strategic decisions, and experience the immediate impact of their actions firsthand.

The Simulation Experience

📍 Location and Format:

A four-part online seminar (half-day sessions), conducted entirely in English – ideally tailored to an international audience. 

📍 Target Group:

Managers and junior managers from diverse departments – chosen for their interdisciplinary backgrounds to promote cross-functional thinking. 

📍 Methodology:

Working in teams of 4-5 people, structured decision-making rounds, theoretical input, visualization with Miro, presentations, reflection, and concluded with a joint feedback session. 

📍 Winning Criterion:

Although the final share price served as the benchmark, the real focus was on practical learning and team-based decision-making.

Conclusion: Practical, Interactive & Impactful

The participant feedback was overwhelmingly positive. They particularly appreciated the interactivity, the realism, and the opportunity to engage with strategic business challenges. Many wanted to continue or expand upon the seminar. This clearly signals the effectiveness and value of this learning format.
