On the 24th and 25th of July, 2019 an interactive training with our business simulation TOPSIM – Startup took place in the Dubai Startup Hub. During the event, the participants developed their own business ideas and then had to survive on the market with their company. In this article we would like to share our impressions of the days with you.
Together with Snehnath Neendoor and Ruchi Singhal from MPS Interactive Systems, Benjamin Höhl led the 18 players through the two days. The aim was to familiarize young talents with topics like self-employment and holisitic corporate management. The business simulation TOPSIM – Startup simulates the entire process of founding a company using the example of a manufacturer for surfboards and raises participants’ awareness for possible challenges in start-ups. On the first day, the groups had to create a business plan and a business model canvas * for their companies and develop their business ideas. During a conversation with the investors (à la “Shark Tank/Dragons’ Den”), the participants were able to expand their negotiation skills. On the second day, the teams started with the management of the company. After they got an overview of the market, they had to make decisions reacting to unforseen events and actions of their competitors.
We would like to thank the Dubai Startup Hub and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry for the successful cooperation.
